WP SERIES > Lighting Design Tips

SECURITY & AREA LIGHTING:

1.  Fluorescent floodlights are very effective for security and area lighting when mounted up to two stories in height.

2. Consider opting for polycarbonate lenses instead of our stock acrylic lenses.  This will reduce vandalism.
For fixtures within the reach of the public, we also offer vandal-resistant external fasteners.

3. Our fixtures can be mounted atop poles with pole-top slip-fitters to increase area coverage.  Use an appropriate size I.D. slip-fitter that accepts our 1/2" N.P.T. swivel.

EAVE LIGHTING:

1. Fixtures are often mounted under the eaves of homes and commercial buildings, usually at the corners of the buildings.  Consider using a WP2TT13C or WP1TT36C, both single swivel units, in these applications.  With the large beam spread these fixtures have, you can often replace two less efficient halogen par floods with one fixture.

CANOPY LIGHTING:

1.  Fluorescent is widely used in this application.  Whether lighting the canopy from above or below, the reflector system Kelsey-Kane provides makes it possible to space the fixtures apart, reducing the number of fixtures, and still achieve an evenly lighted canopy.  Fixtures can be painted to match the canopy.

ROOF LIGHTING:

1. There are commercial applications, usually restaurants, in which the roof is illuminated to draw attention.  Fluorescent floodlights do an excellent job of coverage in this situation and are low-maintenance and energy-efficient.
